Alstom group, strongly present in Brazil for more than 50
years, employs 4000 employees, including 1700 employees for
Alstom Transport. AT plant in Lapa is an excellence centre for
the manufacturing of stainless steel metro cars. Alstom
noticeably stood out this year through several projects,
especially with the supply of 16 Metropolis and a CBTC
(Communication-based train control) driverless system for Sao
Paulo Metro line 2 in December 2008.
