The winners of the Brazil Award in Rail Technology visit
Alstom sites in Spain

This year, the award winners were Eliseu dos Santos Soares
and Douglas Adade, respectively maintenance leader and
coordinator at Supervia - suburban trains operator from Rio de
Janeiro, for their paper about adjustments that can be made to
trains to lower power consumption. They were awarded on 4
November 2008, during the opening session of the Business on
Rails exhibition in Sao Paulo, with a one-week trip to Spain to
discover Alstom sites and the operator Metro Barcelona
operational control centre, and had their work published in
Revista Ferroviara.

For this reason, they went on a visit to the Iberian peninsula
from 27th January to 2nd February, to visit Alstom Transport's
factory and offices in Barcelona and Madrid, and to share with
the Alstom local teams operational returns on experience.
