Jean-Louis Ricaud, 56, joins Alstom Transport as Chief
Operating Officer, effective 9 March 2009. He will be a member
of the Executive Committee of Alstom Transport, reporting to
Philippe Mellier, President of Alstom Transport and Executive
Vice President of the Alstom Group. Jean-Louis Ricaud was
previously Executive Vice President, Engineering and Quality,
of the car manufacturer Renault.

Born in 1952, Jean-Louis Ricaud graduated from the
Ecole des Mines of Paris and the Ecole
Normale Supérieure. He started his career in 1978
at Cogema nuclear company, where he led engineering teams
before to be appointed Managing Director of La Hague nuclear
fuel reprocessing plant. From 1988 to 1991, he was Vice
Chairman and Managing Director of the SGN-Krebs Group as well
as Chairman and CEO of the Eurisys Consultants Group. In 1992,
he was nominated Chief Executive Officer of Cogema Group
(reprocessing & Industrial divisions) and Chairman and CEO
of the Transnucléaire Group. He became Executive Vice
President of the Usinor Group in 2000, before joining Renault
in 2002 as Senior Vice President, Quality. In 2005, he was
nominated Executive Vice President of Renault, Engineering and
Quality.
