Erich Wetzel, Mexico Transport MD, Antonio Oporto, Alstom
IBAM region Senior Vice President and Cintia Angulo, Alstom
Mexico Country President also attended the inauguration. The
new offices, which gather the 3 Alstom sectors, unify the image
of the group in the city, since Alstom will have the first 5
floors of a total of six. They will also strengthen the
security of confidential information.
Philippe Mellier expressed at this occasion his satisfaction on
the two important projects in progress: modernization of 25
trains for Mexico metro line 8 and the whole electromechanical
system (signaling) for the new line 12 of the Citys
Metro System. He stressed that Alstom Transport had to seize
opportunities in the Mexican market, especially in the Mexico
city area, where important tenders for mass transport systems
such as trams and suburban trains will be launched during the
next couple of years.
950 employees work for Alstom in Mexico, among which 580
for Transport in TGS (infrastructures) and TLS (maintenance
activities). Alstom Transport, besides Mexico city metro
projects, has also important TLS contracts for freight
locomotives with Kansas City Southern Mexico, Ferromex,
Ferrosur, and Ferrovalle, the four major Freight Transport
Companies in Mexico.
