Since early January, Alstom has been
conducting the 7th wave of audits on the deployment and
application of its APSYS production system at its sites in France
and abroad. Each year, Alstom evaluates the maturity level of the
production system it has been deploying since 2004, measures the
progress and, if necessary, toughens its criteria. Based on the
principles of lean manufacturing , APSYS aims to establish a
sustainable and effective production system common to all Alstom
sites. In a context of a developing rail market and stronger
competition, APSYS is an useful tool for increasing the
companys manufacturing competitiveness. It is currently
deployed at 27 manufacturing sites in 13 countries.
