Diesel-engined trainsets made up of one, two or three coaches, the trains will be designed and manufactured on the Alstom site of Salzgitter, in Germany. Coradia LINT trains can operate at speeds up to 120 km/h. Each train can accommodate from 70 to 200 passengers. The continuous low floor, mobile steps located at the entrance to the trains and gangways between the coaches make access and getting around on board the train easier, in particular for people with reduced mobility. The trains are also equipped with tactile pictograms for the partially sighted, as well as toilets arranged for passengers with disabilities.

Lastly, the Coradia LINT trains comply with Alstom's environmental policy: they are 95% recyclable, equipped with an environmentally friendly engine, complying with the European Level 3A regulation, and with a filter reducing the emissions of soot particles by 95%.

Since the launch of the first regional trains in the Coradia LINT range, in 2000, Alstom has sold 425 trains in Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark, to public and private operators. Proven and particularly reliable, Coradia LINT trains have covered over 300 million kilometres in commercial service. In Germany, Deutsche Bahn AG has already ordered 143 Coradia LINT.
