Final delivery of X60 to Stockholm

The last train in a series of 71 arrived punctually at the
depot on Wednesday afternoon, having rolled from the Salzgitter
production site Monday morning. Alstom's personnel handed the
train over to SL driver in Trelleborg in southern Sweden, and
from there Lasse Eriksson, one of the most experienced drivers
of the commuter trains, took charge of the driver's cab.

At the depot, a large audience welcomed the train with warm
applauses. Next to the train a barbecue was organised to
celebrate the final delivery including all involved parties:
Alstom, SL, the operator Stockholmståg and the sub
supplier for maintenance, EuroMaint.

Martin Sterner, Alstom, and Johan Sjöholm, SL - project
managers on each side for the X60, took over in the driver's
cab for the final part in the depot.

The contract for X60 (Coradia Nordic) was signed in 2002,
originally for 55 trains. Options were exercised for additional
16 trains in 2006. X60 is a commuter train for the Greater
Stockholm area, in service since August 2005. X60 is 107 meter
long, the longest articulated EMU in the world, with a capacity
close to 1000 passengers.
