The Coradia range of regional trains will be
seen in more and more German cities. An order worth 70
million was placed on 27 March by the railway operator, Veolia
Verkehr, for around 30 Coradia Lint. Designed and manufactured in
the Alstom Centre of Excellence for regional trains in Salzgitter
(Germany), these trains will equip another region of Germany and
connect Düsseldorf with the surrounding area. The trains
will be delivered in 2009.

Veolia was one of the first customers to buy a
Coradia Lint when it was launched in 2000 and has since bought
around 90 trains. In total, Alstom has now sold over 400 Coradia
Lint trains to private and governmental customers in Germany, the
Netherlands and Denmark, leading to a market share of 70% in
Germany. Proven as very reliable, Coradia Lint trains have
covered over 350 million kilometres in commercial service.
