A capacity of 1,100MW, 450 tons in weight and
involving 16 months of workthe largest generator stator
ever manufactured in Alstom factory in Wroclaw (Poland) left the
facility on 21 March to be installed in the Neurath power plant
in Germany, one of the worlds largest lignite power plant.
The generator stator size was a particular challenge for the
engineering of the individual components the stator
casing, which was made in the first stage of the works in
November 2006, was 12.70 meters long and weighed 75 tons.
However, this is not the first time that the Wroclaw factory has
used such advanced generator technology. Since 1990, it has been
the centre of implementation for new turbogenerator stator
models, and some of the biggest water, air or hydrogen-cooled
two-pole stator generators have been manufactured here.
