Coradia: New regional trains for Umbria region in
Italy

Four new Coradia trainsets will soon circulate
in the region of Umbria in Italy. The new regional trains,
manufactured by Alstom for Ferrovia Centrale Umbra, were
officially presented to public and local authorities on 18 April.
Designed especially for the region, these 145 seat regional
trains will be able to travel at a maximum speed of 160km/h and
are in accordance with new comfort, safety and accessibility
standards. The Italian production sites involved in this contract
included Savigliano for project management, Colleferro (Rome) for
train manufacture, Sesto San Giovanni (Milan) for safety
equipment, Verona for passengers information systems and
Bologna for signalling systems. The trains will enter into
service in September 2008.
