Tarbes: modernisation campaign underway

The Alstom Transport site in Tarbes (France)
is about to start a vast modernisation campaign which will
reinforce the competitiveness of its industrial equipment. The
decision to launch this 20 million project was taken on 5
March. In two years time, once the modernisation is achieved, the
site's know-how in the design and manufacturing of equipment and
electric traction systems will see a great improvement. Since
1921, electrical and electronic equipment for railways has been
designed and manufactured on the Tarbes site, the TGV and the
AGV, for instance. The site also has a section dedicated to train
life services and repair and maintenance.
