Alstom Hydro strengthens its market position with aquisition of SDEM ENTREPRISES assets

Alstom Hydro* has recently acquired substantially all the assets of the hydro-mechanical equipment business of SDEM ENTREPRISES, a French company based in Isère, France.

SDEM ENTREPRISES specialises in design, engineering, manufacturing and assembly of penstocks and valves. The company has 65 employees and its net sales in 2006 were over 22 million euros.

Alstom Hydro and SDEM ENTREPRISES have already collaborated as consortium partners on a number of projects such as Selingue in Mali and Ait Messaoud in Morocco.

With this acquisition, Alstom Hydro consolidates the competitiveness of its hydro-mechanical product offerings and reinforces its position in both new and service markets.

*Alstom Hydro is a joint venture between Alstom and Bouygues.
