The Governor of Rio de Janeiro State in Italy for the theme
of High Speed Trains

The meeting took place between the Governor of Rio de
Janeiro State, Mr. Sérgio Cabral, the Secretary of
Transports of Rio de Janeiro, Mr. Julio Lopes and Italian and
Brazilian transport associations, ambassadors, Italian
authorities and HST manufacturers to discuss the Italian
experiences in the high speed train market.



Alstom Brazils Business Development Director Luiz
Fernando Ferrari and Giovannangelo Montecchi from Alstom Italy
attended the meeting, which was part of a much larger Business
Forum organised by ICE, the Italian official trade promotion
agency.



ALSTOM Transport presented their experiences in the HS and
tilting train market, making reference to the Pendolino which
has had great success in Italy, and is a product in which
Brazil is highly interested in. Furthermore, the ERTMS 2
signalling system was presented, given that the first line to
put this standard into action was the Rome-Naples HS line.



The high speed train route project between Rio
and Sao Paulo is just one of the many business opportunities
existing in Brazil, to which Alstom would like to provide a
solution for.
