Valenciennes: a comprehensive travel plan for
employees

This marked the final stage of a comprehensive travel plan
based on an agreement with Transville (public transport
operator) and Siturv (the intercommunal urban transport
association of the city of Valenciennes). The aim of this plan
is to reduce the number of cars using the citys streets
and the congestion in the sites car parks. The agreement
with Transville and Siturv included the setting up of five
dedicated bus lines for Alstom employees and a preferential
rate offering a 30% discount across the entire transport
network in the Valenciennes urban area.
The bicycle scheme has been a big hit with employees: 85
bicycles were given out, along with helmets and fluorescent
tunics. Other bicycles will soon be distributed, to meet
demand.
