Electrification contract for the SKAKiato
line

Acting as leader of a joint venture, Alstom is in charge of the
design and installation of an overhead catenary line. This will
permit an operating speed of 160 kph over the 100 km of double
track on the SKA-Kiato line (instead of 120 kph today). Alstom
will also manage the track maintenance for a three year period.
The electrical power supply for the system will be provided by
J&P AVAX SA.

Entry into commercial service of the line is scheduled to take
place by mid-2009.

Of the total contract value of 44 million,
Alstoms share amounts to 33 million.

Electrification contract for the Inoi-Halkida (capital
of the island of Evia) line

ERGA OSE has also awarded Alstom with the construction of an
overhead catenary line for the Inoi-Halkida line. When this is
built, it will be possible to operate over the 22 km of single
track at a speed of 120 kph, instead of 80 kph today. The
contract also includes the upgrade of the electrification
system and the fibre optic telecommunications interface. Alstom
will manage the maintenance for a period of two years.

The project is expected to be completed by the first quarter of
2009.

The value of this contract is 7.5 million.
