Alstom will be responding to the invitation to tender for
the Reunion Island tram-train line as part of a consortium that
takes in Vinci, Transdev, la Caisse des Dépôts,
Financière OCEOR and Fidepp. Alstom will bring to the
group its expertise in terms of design, project management,
manufacturing, and the putting into service and maintenance of
the transport system, which includes the infrastructure,
signalling and Citadis Dualis tram-train rolling stock.

This tram-train will fulfil the need for greater fluidity in
transport between urban and periurban areas. Modular,
accessible and reliable, Citadis Dualis is as capable of
operating on a tramway network as on a regional railway
network, thanks to adaptations made in respect of power, safety
and comfort. This configuration makes it a highly versatile
mode of transport: its tramway dimensions enable it to operate
in town, while its train-like performance allows it to carry
passengers at speeds of up to almost 100km/h once outside
built-up areas, without passengers having to change their
method of transport.
