The customer was highly satisfied with the model, which
comprises a power car, the cab of which was conceived by
Alstoms Design & Styling department, and a
wrap by RCP, a design and communications agency
based in Tours (and an Alstom Transport partner in this
operation).

The model will be shipped to Algiers in
September
to be displayed there.

Alstom was chosen in June 2006 to manufacture a turnkey
system destined for the first tramway line in the Algerian
capital, which will link the city centre with districts to the
east. A 16.3- kilometre line is currently planned, featuring 30
stations and designed to carry 150,000 passengers per
day.

On a turnkey basis, Alstom will deliver the rolling
stock, track, power-supply system, traction electrification,
signalling system and control equipment, plus part of the
public works and a workshop
.

This project is part of the Algerian governments
development plan to meet a growing demand for public transport
and to reduce congestion in the Algerian capital.
