Deutsche Bahn orders 39 Coradia Lirex regional trains from Alstom worth about 150. Mio. Euro

The German operator DB Regio AG has placed two orders with Alstom to supply 39 Coradia Lirex regional trains. Both orders are together worth about 150 Mio. Euro. The first contract is about 12 Coradia Lirex trains for the line Munich-Passau. These trains shall enter service end of 2009. The second order is about 27 trains for the region Würzburg. Eight of these trains shall enter service end of 2009 and the other 19 end of 2010. All these trains will be manufactured in Salzgitter.
