Factory workshop expansion capacity doubled at Vadodara facility  

Vadodara, May 24, 2007 - Alstom Power Service today announced the expansion of its factory workshop with the foundation stone laying ceremony held at its Vadodara based manufacturing facility in presence of Mr Sunand Sharma, Country President, Alstom India & Chairman, ALSTOM Projects India Ltd., Neil White, Senior Vice President, Alstom Power Service and Mr Nirmal Jha, Senior Vice President, Alstom Power Service Region-IV.

With the expansion of the workshop at Vadodara, Alstom Power Service will now double its service capabilities. With this development, APIL has become the first company in the private sector to have this kind of state-of-the-art facility.

The expanded portfolio of the Alstom Power Service will result in improved response to customer through:

  • Developing clean room for large generator repairs
  • Enhancing the capacity by the state-of-the-art new pedestals for high speed (up to 14000 RPM)
  • To meet the stringent technical requirement of short peening for nuclear turbines
  • To upgrade the state-of-the-art facility for bend removal of turbine rotors
