The first train, manufactured in the workshops at Savigliano
(Italy) was delivered in January 2007, just 23 months after it
was ordered. In barely 6 weeks it had succeeded in passing all
the necessary safety and performance tests and had welcomed its
first passengers. The second arrived in China in kit form and was assembled by
Changchun Railways Company (CRC), Alstom Transports
Chinese partner, before being delivered to the customer in 27
months, following tests. Finally, the entirely local manufacture of 3 other EMUs,
thanks to Alstom technology transfer, was achieved in 28 months
in the workshops of CRC. These three EMUs are currently in commercial service and
operate at an average speed of 200km/h on lines in the north east
of the country. The two other trains will become operational
during 2007. In China, Alstom Transport draws on its
expertise and the commitment of its 700 employees in developing
the company and finalising the other important orders won
recently: the COCO locomotives and Metropolis coaches for
Nanjing.
