At a ceremony organized on 12 April, officials and the press
were able to admire the trains extraordinary
livery featuring the colours of the Regional
Council and large-format photos showing scenes of the Nord-Pas de
Calais region. The train will operate services on the regional
network for 2 years from 19 April 2007.

This delivery forms part of the multi-year investment
programme signed between Alstom and SNCF in September 2000.
Financed by the French regions to renew the TER fleet, the
programme takes in 195 TER 2N NG trainsets. Of this total, 46
three-car (three-body) trains with distributed power are destined
for Nord-Pas de Calais; 21 have already been delivered and 25
will leave Alstoms production lines at Valenciennes-Petite
Forêt between now and 2010. The trainset comes from Alstoms Coradia Duplex range
and is characterized by its reliability and performance
(160km/h), its on-board comfort and its service
spaces (bicycle holders), its capacity (334 seats) and its
accessibility its access system for people with reduced
mobility will be used as standard on Nord-Pas de Calais TER 2N NG
trainsets from 2008. Lastly, Coradia Duplex responds to the need
to respect the environment, in particular due to its high
recyclability rate of 95%.

The 100
th example of these TER trainsets underlines the
relationship that has been developed since the 1980s between
Alstom, SNCF and the Regional Council to respond to the increase
in regional traffic.
