SNCF orders 16 regional express trainsets (TER) from
Alstom

This order forms part of a multi-year investment programme
launched in September 2000 and financed by Frances
regions, to renew their fleet of TER express trains and to meet
growing demand for regional transport. In total, Alstom has
received orders for 747 coaches from SNCF and the various
regions of France since the beginning of the programme. The 16
new trainsets will be delivered by 2010.
Alstoms sites at Valenciennes, Tarbes, Villeurbanne, Le
Creusot and Ornans in France, in addition to its site at
Charleroi in Belgium, will all contribute to the fulfilment of
the contract.
