In December 2006 Latvenergo awarded ALSTOM the contract for
refurbishment of 3 units in the Plavinas Hydro Power Plant in
Latvia. Contract value is approximately 32 million Euros and
time for completion is scheduled to first quarter of 2010.

The supply comprises the upgrading of units 4, 5 and 7 with
new turbine runners for two of the units, new stator core and
windings for all three units, turbine governors, static
excitation, electrical and control equipment, supervision and
commissioning.

Plavinas Hydro Power Plant is situated on the Daugava River
located some 100 km east of Riga. The plant was built in
1961-66 and consists of 10 units of each 85 MW. ALSTOM has an
ongoing contract for refurbishment of the electrical and
control equipment of five other units in the plant, which will
be finalized first quarter 2007.

In March 2007, Vattenfall Indalsälven AB has awarded
ALSTOM the contract to refurbish generator unit G2 in
Näverede Hydro Power station, Sweden. The contract value
is approximately 5,9 million Euros and time for completion is
scheduled to December 2009.

Refurbishment of the unit with new stator, new rotor,
brushless excitation system and new closed cooling system is
similar to the scope of unit G1 refurbishment in the same
station, which was successfully performed by ALSTOM in
2003.
