The global order, worth 620 million euros consists of 60
trains. AlstomTransport will supply 3 complete trainsets and 6
in kits. The company will also supply the equipment for the
remaining 51 trainsets which will be built locally, by
Changchun Railway Company, its local partner. Made of 8 cars
each train will enter commercial service in 2007 and will run
at a speed of 200 km/h on various regional lines.

The trains are of a new design: the body derives from the SM3 -
developed for the Finnish Railways - while the bogie is of the
kind used for the Lanzaredas train, developed for Spain. The
main components belong to the last generation, similar to the
“New Pendolino” family.
