Official visit at the workshop of La Sagra, in Spain

Zapatero emphasized that "the railway is PEIT´s
greatest bet given its efficiency and low environmental
impact". The objective of the PEIT 2005-2020 is to develop an
ambitious high performance railway network connected by High
Speed Train lines, double electrified tracks, UIC gauge and
suitable for mixed traffic (passengers + freight) in the
majority of its stretches. The 15 year plan includes
development projects for 250 billions euros.



During the course of his visit, the President of the Spanish
Government showed great interest in exchanging words with the
employees of the maintenance workshop and in hearing about
their concerns regarding the current development of the sector.
