Four new Alstom Minuetto trains ordered by Trentino

Worth a total of 16 million euros, this new order leads the
number of Minuetto trains used on the Trento-Borgo Valsugana
line to 10. The trains will be delivered during the second half
of 2008.
It is a confirmation of the success of Alstom Coradia
articulated trains for regional transport, with about 190
Minuetto trains running throughout Italy today.
Minuetto trainsets are composed of two cars with driving cabins
and traction system, plus a third idle car. They are provided
with 2 power units placed in the underchassis. Each unit is
composed of a 560 KW diesel engine, turbo-hydraulic
transmission and auxiliary equipment. The trainsets come with a
removable step allowing the access of disabled persons.
The sites involved in this order are : Savigliano –
complete project management; Colleferro – train
manufacturing; Salzgitter – bogies; Sesto San Giovanni
and Bologna – safety equipment; and Charleroi –
static converters.
