The Transport Seminar was focused on the VHS-link
Ostlänken project, the first section of the so-called
European Corridor.


This section of about 150 km, will link in 1 hour the cities of
Norrköping and Linköping (fourth largest inhabitants
area in Sweden) to Stockholm.



The Trans-Europe Network will link Stockholm with
Malmoe/Copenhagen and in turn with Gothenburg.



During the seminar, Lena Ek, Swedish representative for the
European Parliament, presented the stakes of modern transport
growth for the region. The Arlanda Express representative
(airport rail link supplied by Alstom), Oscar Leopoldson, spoke
about their experience in BOT service contracts (Build Operate
Transfer) a different type of concession, enabling the
State to change operators once the project is transferred back
to him (for the Arlanda Express rail link, the concession time
is 45 years).



Arnaud de Monts, Alstoms Concession Director, concluded
presenting a possible scheme for the Ostlänken-link
project with Alstom participating in its construction as part
of a consortium
