Alstom at Nordic Rail with the Citadis of Madrid

For the first time, a tram was on display: the Citadis from
Madrid, which has been on a road show in Sweden since August.
Now it will go back to Spain. The design study of a future tram
for Stockholm was also on display, and gained a lot of
attention.

Alstom presented several papers on key issues in the
conference:

VHS and its future development, ERTMS and our references,
PPP-references and a possible scheme for the future very high
speed link in Sweden (Ostlänken) and tram-train as a means
of developing cities and regions. This was the concluding
session on the tram-train demonstration project - which took
place in 2006 - performed by Alstom together with the research
institute VTI, Banverket (Rail Authority), the Governmental
agency Vinnova and several cities in southern Sweden.

Alstom Transport is now clearly regarded as an established
actor on the Nordic market, with relevant products, services
and other offerings for the Nordic countries.
