Alstom wins major orders in booming Vietnamese energy
market

For Nhon Trach 1, a 460 MW gas-fired combined cycle power
plant project near to Ho Chi Minh City,  Alstom will supply
power island equipment to Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation,
LILAMA, the company building the plant for Vietnam Oil and Gas
Corporation, PetroVietnam.

The 155 million euro contract comprises two GT13E2 gas
turbines, two heat recovery steam generators, one steam turbine
and three generators along with supervision and commissioning of
the whole power island.

The second contract is for the supply of the complete
electromechanical package for the Sesan 4 hydro power station for
Electricity of Vietnam. The scope of this 35 million euro
contract includes the design, engineering, manufacturing,
supervision of site erection and commissioning of three 120 MW
turbine generator units along with control systems for the power
station, located in Gia Lai Province in the central highlands of
the country.

The equipment for this contract will be made in
China by Tianjin Alstom Hydro (TAH), a company 99% owned by
Alstom. A world centre of excellence, TAH is Alstoms base
for the export of hydroelectric equipment to the Asian
region.
