Metro has announced two new stations that are currently in
their engineering phase:  L1 will be extended in 4 Kms and
4 stations. L5 will be extended in 13.5 kms and 13 stations.
Combined investment will raise up to 900 million and will start

Fundación Futuro an NGO/Think Tank created in 1996.
The good, ugly and bad in 2006 survey took place
in December trough a telephone poll to 400 people in
Santiago.  ALSTOM has provided 180 Metropolis cars,
control & ATC systems and trainset maintenance.

Finally, the  first metropolis train, out of 11,

will be delivered from Lapa site in Brazil,  one unit per
month basis. These new trains will allow the operator to
improve timekeeping on lines when Transantiago Plan will be
launched and will start its integration to the urban transport
network in Santiago, next February 2007, doubling the number of
passengers from 1 to 2 million per day.
