Contract won to supply first Driverless Train Control
System in China

ALSTOM Transport and CASCO Signal Ltd will provide the
advanced URBALIS solution, a radio-based train control system
including: the CBTC, the spread spectrum Wireless Local Area
Network (WLAN) for Train Control, interlocking, trackside
equipment, as well as the Operating Control Center. The high
level of redundancy in all parts of the system will ensure
continuous traffic in all situations.



ALSTOM has already supplied the CBTC Driverless Train Control
system for Singapores North East Metro Line (NEL), the
first fully automatic heavy metro system in the world. Other
major CBTC ongoing projects include Lausanne M2 (Switzerland)
Driverless line, Singapores Circle Line, the largest
automatic metro line in the world, and, in China, Beijing Line
2 Train Control Modernization.
