President Michelle Bachelet inaugurates line L4A in
Santiago, Chile

With a total length of 7.7 Km and 7 new stations, the new
line will transport 65 thousand passengers per day and 23 million
per year. It is the final part of the project “Line
4”. Both lines 4 and 4 A, will add 33 Km to the
city’s metro network. The project represents an investment of US$ 150 million.
President Bachelet highlighted the importance of this service, as
it will link the southern area of Santiago with the east area in
only 12 minutes. ALSTOM provided 180 Metropolis cars in total for both lines
and has been the sole supplier to Metro de Santiago’s fleet
