Over 1200 people attended the ceremony, notably officials
from the contributing partner institutions (Eastern
France’s regional and departmental authorities), as well
as the media.
The event is the first major operation linked to the East
European TGV. ALSTOM, the French operator’s only railway
partner in the project, will supply 38 motor units from
Transport’s Belfort site, to power the Christian
Lacroix-designed passenger cars.
The East European TGV will link Paris to 21 cities in
eastern France as well as 11 other destinations in Germany,
Luxembourg and Switzerland.
