During the 25 years that followed its launch, the TGV has
carried 1.2 billion passengers and travelled along 3500 km of
high-speed lines around the globe. It has considerably changed
our way of travelling : speed, comfort and safety have made
high-speed trains one of the most appreciated forms of
transport, not only in France, but also around the world.
ALSTOM supplied the TGV to Spain, linking Madrid and Seville
for the Universal Exhibition in 1992. In addition, the
ALSTOM-built KTX, Koreas first high-speed train, went
into service in April 2004, and has since carried 50 million
passengers between Seoul and Pusan.

Through innovation and anticipation of passengers future
needs, ALSTOM teams are currently working on the new very
high-speed train concept, the AGV (ALSTOM Grande Vitesse). This
train will allow for interoperability between all European rail
networks, commercial speed up to 350 km/h, as well as power
being spread along the entire train, thus enabling increased
passenger capacity and comfort.
