This contract, worth €1.4 billion has several
significant implications for the Group. Firstly, the
consortium includes Bouygues, ALSTOM’s shareholder, who
will be responsible for the civil works of the project. This
ability to work together on such projects fully demonstrates
ALSTOM’s compatibility with the Bouygues Group.

Furthermore, this project is also the first full turnkey tramway
operation to take place in France for ALSTOM. The project
will integrate two of Transport’s major technological
innovations; APS (ground level power supply) and Appitrack (track
laying system). Finally, the project represents a long term
commitment for ALSTOM, as the Group will continue to maintain the
tramway over the next 30 years.

First deliveries of the Citadis tramsets are anticipated for
autumn 2009, with entry into revenue service at the end of 2010.
