A stamp showing the Maréchaux Tramway

Drawn by Stéphane Pécot from the ABAKA agency, the
new stamp illustrates the Maréchaux Tramway, the new symbol
of Paris. This is not the first time that La Poste has taken part in a
major national project: the national post network puts forward
over 1,200 philatelic proposals every year, with 60 stamps being
produced. Several French stamps have featured Alstom Transport
products: the TGV 1 turbotrain in 1974, the Atlantic TGV in 1989
and the Eurostar in 2001. A TGV stars in a series of stamps
dedicated to transport entitled “The century as illustrated
by stamps”, and a stamp illustrating the Bordeaux tramway
was released in 2004. In June 2007 the Eastern TGV will also be
