Darmstadt orders 18 trams

HEAG mobilio GmbH, the transport operator in
Darmstadt, has chosen an ALSTOM-led consortium for the delivery
of 18 low-floor trams totalling 39 million euros.
ALSTOMs share is some 21 million euros.

The scope of supply of ALSTOM comprises the mechanical part
which will be manufactured by ALSTOMs factory in
Salzgitter (Germany). Delivery will take place between January
and September 2007.

The design of the three-car vehicles is identical to the
consortiums 20 trams of type ST13 that have been
reliably operated since 1998. The trams will replace older
models.

In addition, the new vehicles will be equipped with an
air-conditioning unit and a modern passenger information
system. They can run up to 70 Km/h and offer space for 170
passengers.

Braunschweig orders 12 trams

Braunschweiger Verkehrs-AG have chosen an
ALSTOM/Bombardier consortium for the delivery of 12 low-floor
trams totalling some 28 million euros. ALSTOMs share is
approximately 14 million euros. The contract includes an option
for two additional vehicles.

ALSTOM will also supply the mechanical part for this project.
The three-car trams are based on the 72 vehicles that have been
running in Magdeburg since 1995 and were also delivered by the
consortium. The trams with a low-floor portion of 70 % offer
seats for some 75 passengers. The first train will be delivered
in April 2007, the last delivery is scheduled for end of
2007.

Gera orders six trams

Geraer Verkehrsbetrieb GmbH have awarded ALSTOM a
contract worth some 12 million euros for the delivery of six
low-floor trams with an option for six additional ones. The
ALSTOM share is 7 million euros.

ALSTOMs scope of supply comprises the whole mechanical
part and the bogies. This order is part of Geras
extension programme for the citys tram network, with the
new line 1 to be inaugurated in October 2006. The first vehicle
will be delivered to Gera in the summer of 2006. The new fleet
is scheduled to start passenger service at the end of October
2006.

The design of the three-car trams for Gera is to a great
extent identical to the one of the 18 vehicles of HEAG mobilio
GmbH which have been in passenger service since 1998 in the
City of Darmstadt.

With more than 35 product lines and a presence in more
than 60 countries, ALSTOM's Transport sector offers

infrastructure owners. ALSTOM's Transport sector, with
sales of 5.1 billion euros in financial year 2004-2005, is
