ALSTOM Finland Oy will
deliver new fabric filter plant to clean the flue gases at a biofuel-fired
boiler plant.

ALSTOM Finland Oy’s Environmental Control Systems will deliver one
fabric filter plant to clean the flue gases at a new biofuel-fired power plant
in Rauma. The contract has been signed with Rauman Voima Oy. Rauman Voima Oy is
building the plant at the paper mill of UPM-Kymmene in the city of Rauma in the
west coast of Finland. Rauman Voima is owned by Pohjolan Voima Oy (PVO) and Rauma
Energy. The power plant will be completed in
2006.

Fabric Filters are used to obtain the lowest possible dust emission
level. The guaranteed emission level for the fabric filter in this project is
only 5 mg/Nm3. Erection on the site will start in April 2006 and the start-up
of the filter is scheduled to the end of October 2006.

This fabric filter will be the third one delivered to a biofuel boiler
in the pulp and paper industry. The previous ones have been delivered to
Myllykoski Paper in Finland in 2000 and to Stora Enso Langerbrugge in Belgium
in 2004.

When completed, the power plant will generate electricity, process steam
and district heat for for UPM Rauma mill and for Rauman Energia. The power
plant’s main fuels will be bark and felling residue such as branches, crowns
and stumps. Peat, bio-sludge and small amounts of refuse-derived fuel will be
used as additional fuels.
