ALSTOM Projects reaches an order backlog of Rs. 1,600

New Delhi, May 3 2005: ALSTOM Projects India Ltd
(APIL) increased revenues to Rs. 841 Crores during fiscal year
2004 - 05 with a profit after tax of Rs 47.9 Crores.

The results were approved at the Board meeting of the
company held here yesterday. The board recommended a dividend
of Rs 5.50 per share (including a special one time dividend of
Rs 2.50 per share, on account of sale of T & D
business).

The company booked orders of Rs 881 Crores during the year
including the Gautami 469 MW Combined Cycle Power project and
the Renusagar 2 x 275 TPH boilers with ESPs.

APIL had an order backlog of Rs 922 Crores as on March 31,
2005, which translates to about 14 months revenues. However,
the company has started the new financial year by booking an
order of Rs 746 Crores for its portion of the 8 x 250 MW
Subansiri Lower Hydro Electric Project in April 2005. This
gives the company a record level of Order Backlog of about Rs.
1,600 Crores.

The  Company remains on track in its expansion plans
for the establishment of the Global Hub for Hydro Plants and
the Plant Engineering Centre in Delhi. A new business unit for
Turbomachinery has also been established.

The company remains debt free and maintains a strong cash
position.
