These three orders were awarded to ALSTOM as part of the
opening of the LEA line, the eastern line of the Lyons
agglomeration, connecting Lyons Part-Dieu station to the
municipality of Meyzieu.

ALSTOM will supply 10 tramsets which are identical to the 47
low-floor tramsets already delivered by ALSTOM since December
2000 for Lyons tram lines 1 and 2. They will be manufactured at
ALSTOMs La Rochelle factory. This order worth about 24
million euros.

Additionally, ALSTOM will be fully in charge of the supply and
installation of the 17 km of track for the LEA tram line. This
will include the construction of a double concrete track (2150
m), a double ballast track (13 300 m) and a single track in the
depot (1700 m). This order worth about 28 million euros.

Finally, ALSTOM will supply (within a consortium led by Cegelec
Centre Est) automation and signalling equipment for the 26
crossroads on this line. This order worth over 2 million euros.

Thierry Best, Managing Director of ALSTOM Transport France said
: This new order is a clear demonstration of the success
of the tram in Lyons to meet the public transport challenge and
of SYTRALs confidence in ALSTOMs products and
services.
