It took just 14 days for the KTX, Korea's new
high-speed train, to carry 1 million passengers.

Commercial operation of the KTX began on April 1 with
service between Seoul and Busan, and Seoul and Mokpo. By April
13, 968,000 passengers had taken the high-speed train,
according to Korail, the national railroad. On April 14, when
Lee Wan-Shik boarded the KTX in Daejeon, he became the
millionth passenger. To congratulate him, the 70-year-old Mr.
Lee was given flowers and 10 free KTX passes.

Judging from the first weeks' trend, the number of
passengers could reach 10 million in five months.

KTX Web magazine.
