ALSTOM has signed a long-term service agreement with the Baosteel Group in China. The contract value is about 34 million euros and covers the supply of maintenance services for the GT11N2 Bao Shan combined-cycle cogeneration power plant.

The Baosteel Group is one of the major corporations in the Asian steel market and is the largest producer of high-tech and high-value-added steel products in China.

The contract includes the supply of new and reconditioned hot gas path components and technical field service personnel in order to carry out the scheduled major inspections as well as all field assessments for a period of 8 years.

The 144 MW Bao Shan plant is powered by one GT11N2-LBTU gas turbine and one steam turbine. The plant, situated at Baosteel’s steel mill close to Shanghai, is burning blast furnace gas from the steel production and supplies its electrical power back into the mill. The GT11N2 gas turbine has, to date, accumulated over 170 starts and 39,000 operating hours.

This agreement will support Baosteel to ensure efficient and economic plant operation and maintenance and builds upon the good relationship between the two companies.
