ALSTOM wins order to provide hydro power equipment in Costa Rica

ALSTOM has been awarded a turnkey order by Unión Fenosa Generadora La Joya
S. A., in Costa Rica, to supply the complete electromechanical equipment for the 50 MW La Joya hydro power plant. The contract is valued at over 13 million euros.

Under the terms of the contract, ALSTOM will provide the design, engineering and supply of three 17 MW vertical Francis turbines, generators, balance of plant, the ALSPA P320 control system,138 kV sub-station, as well aserection and commissioning. The main equipment will be manufactured in the Group’s facilities in Spain. The plant is scheduled to enter commercial operation in August 2005.
