ALSTOM to supply Heat Recovery Steam Generator to Linz, Austria

ALSTOM has signed a contract with the Austrian turnkey supplier VA TECH HYDRO to supply a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) downstream from a new 70 MWe gas turbine for a municipal heating plant in Linz, Austria. 

The new municipal heating plant will supply heat and power to the local district heating system and to the Austrian national grid. 

ALSTOM’s scope covers the design, supply, delivery and erection of a dual pressure 123t/hr Heat Recovery Steam Generator, including feed-water system. The HRSG is a natural circulation vertical design and the boiler is provided with a SCR DeNOx system for environmentally-friendly operation. Commissioning is scheduled for October 2004. 

A highly competitive solution, a good relationship with the customer and successful previous references in Austria were the major considerations in the award of this new order.
