ALSTOM highlighted CORADIA regional trains and Switch
Machine MET at Nordic Rail 2003

The highlight of the ALSTOM stand was the CORADIA range,
focused on single and double-deckers (electric and diesel), and
the ALSTOM Switch Machine MET an example of which was
unveiled to customers on 8th October at 11am. It attracted a lot
of positive attention from Banverket clients.

Indeed, ALSTOM has recently signed a frame contract with
Banverket, the Swedish Railway Infrastructures Authority, for the
supply of the innovative switch machine named ALSTOM MET.
Benefits of the MET solution are the extreme ease of installation
and the dramatic reduction of maintenance costs of the switch
machine itself as well as reduced track-maintenance costs.

The two models of the X40 and X60 were admired  by
representatives from SJ and SL, and overall the ALSTOM stand
received a very positive response from clients.

ALSTOM-built trains and equipment are already in successful
commercial service on Nordic railways; In Sweden, the Arlanda
Express, a high-speed train linking Stockholm Central Station and
Arlanda Airport. In Finland, for VR, the Pendolino SM3 and
regional trains SM4. The S-Tog is in commercial service in
Denmark, as will be the CORADIA LINT for ARRIVA.
