ALSTOM wins order to supply gas turbines offshore North Africa

ALSTOM has won an order to supply gas turbines for a platform offshore North Africa. 

Under the multi-million euro contract awarded by Saipem/HHI Consortium, ALSTOM will supply three Tempest gas turbine generating sets for the NC41 Block of the Sabrath Platform. 

Each Tempest is rated at ISO 7.90MW(e) and will be capable of operation on either gas or liquid fuel, with a DLE combustion system for reducing emissions. Installation of the compact, easily maintained generating sets will provide an independent source of power for the platform as well as offering a significant weight saving compared with competitor equipment. 

This contract brings to 60 the total number of Tempest gas turbines sold, of which five are for offshore platforms. The units are scheduled for delivery from the ALSTOM Lincoln facility in UK during December 2003.
