ALSTOM has won a further order to supply gas turbines for two new main pipeline compressor stations on the UK gas transmission system.

Under this latest contract, awarded by GE Power Systems Oil & Gas Nuovo Pignone in Firenze, Italy, ALSTOM will supply two Cyclone gas turbine compressor drive packages. The order value is approximately 8 million euros.

The packages will be installed at Bathgate Compressor Station at Avonbridge in Falkirk, Scotland. The station will be operated by NTTS Transco of Hinckley, Leicestershire.

ALSTOM has already supplied three Cyclone compressor packages for compressor stations at Nether Kellet and Cambridge, and a further two packages are currently under manufacturing for the Kings Lynn compressor station.

The 18,000 bhp Cyclone offers high efficiency, low emissions and low life-cycle costs. Each unit will be coupled to a GE Oil & Gas Nuovo Pignone PCL 603/1 compressor.

Delivery of both Cyclone units from Lincoln is scheduled for end of June 2003.
