New Delhi, September 20, 2006: ALSTOM group has won four major orders worth Rs 330
crore for equipment supplies and Renovation & Modernization
(R&M) work on four power plants in India.

These orders from National Thermal Power
Corporation Limited  (NTPC), TATA Power, NALCO and GEA
Energy Systems (India) Ltd. reaffirm the clients confidence in
ALSTOMs wide spectrum of products, services and solutions
such as Boilers, Heat Recovery Steam Generators and Pollution
Control Equipment.

These orders are a testimony to the
groups commitment to bring frontline technologies to
India.

NTPC awards Rs 114 crore contract to a consortium of
ALSTOM - NASL for R&M Boilers work for TANDA plant

NTPC has awarded an Rs 114 crore contract to a
consortium of ALSTOM - NASL    (NTPC
ALSTOM Services Ltd.)  for executing the Renovation &
Modernization program for the 4 x 110 MW Boilers at Tanda, Uttar
Pradesh. The order consolidates ALSTOMs position in the
R&M business. ALSTOM shall be working closely with its joint
venture partner NASL for offering R&M packages to NTPC and
other electricity boards.

NALCO awards Rs 81 crore contract to ALSTOM for
pollution control equipment for its smelter plant in
Orissa

NALCO has placed an Rs 81 crore order on
ALSTOM for pollution control equipment for its smelter project at
Angul, Orissa. The order relates to turnkey supply, erection,
commissioning and testing of Gas Treatment Centers for the
Smelter Phase II expansion project. This order reinforces
ALSTOMs leadership position for Fume and Gas Treatment
Plants in India.  

TATA Power awards Rs 105 crore contract to ALSTOM for
TATA Steel captive power plant

TATA Power has placed an Rs 105 crore order on
ALSTOM for supply of two units of     2 x 230
Tons Per Hour (TPH) blast furnace gas fired boilers to be
installed at TATA Steel at Jamshedpur. These are the largest
blast furnace gas fired boilers to be built in the country by
ALSTOM India. 

ALSTOM won this contract against stiff
competition from leading boiler manufacturers of USA and India.
It has erected seven boilers for TATA Steel in the past as also a
desalination plant for TATA Power.

GEA Energy Systems (India) awards Rs 30 crore contract
to ALSTOM for TNEB plant

GEA Energy Systems (India) Ltd. has placed a
Rs 30 crore order with ALSTOM for the design, engineering, supply
and erection and commissioning of Heat Recovery Steam Generators
(HRSG) for the Valathur Phase II expansion scheme for Tamil Nadu
Electricity Board (TNEB). The State Electricity board is adding
another 92.20 MW capacity to the power plant in Ramanathapuram
district of Tamil Nadu to meet the growing energy demand.

From the above projects, ALSTOM Projects India
Limited will execute works worth Rs. 270 Crore. 

ALSTOM India to supply equipment for Rs 71 crore for
TALLAWARA Project in Australia
 

ALSTOM India will supply Heat Recovery Steam
Generators (HRSG) for Tallawara project in Australia. ALSTOM is
presently building a combined cycle power plant and will deliver
advanced class Gas Turbine (GT26). This is a major milestone for
ALSTOM India as this would be the 1st largest HRSG to be exported
from the country.
