Alstoms Network Management Solutions business has a new team member!!!

Doug Macdonald has taken the lead as Unit Managing Director (UMD), Network Management Solutions, Alstom Grid North America.

In his new role Doug is responsible for Alstom’s activities in Redmond, Washington and the 400+ employees of the company’s NMS product line in North America. In addition Doug manages Redmond’s support functions including finance, IT, human resources, quality, and other vital units of the organization while also representing the company on the boards of various industry, educational, and community organizations. 

Mr. Macdonald has nearly 25 years of experience in the technology and energy industries.  Prior to joining Alstom, Doug spent 7 years with Vestas American Wind Technology where he held various roles including Senior Vice President for Government Relations and Customer Service where he was responsible for developing and leading the company’s service and maintenance operations in the U.S. and Canada. Macdonald also spent 17 years with Otis Elevator where he served in a variety of leadership and management positions. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Western Ontario and an MBA from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

Over the course of his career, Doug’s wide range of experiences have given him a broad perspective and strong understanding of the Canadian and U.S. business environments making him well suited for his new position at Alstom.
