The planned line will be 710 kms long. The double-deck
trains which will provide nine daily services (with more than
500 passengers per train) will reach a maximum speed of
320km/h. This line will have an important social and
economic effect in Argentina as it will drastically reduce the
journey times for this major transport route: Buenos
Aires-Rosario will take 85 minutes and Rosario-Cordoba, 90
minutes.

For the past eight months, the consortium has already had 150
engineers working on the project (60% in Europe and 40% in
Argentina). This project will cost between five and eight
times less than it would have done in a European country for a
high speed line because the planned route crosses only flat and
stable terrain.

If the Argentinian authorities confirm their intention to
pursue this project over the next months, the line could be
open around 2011.
